Alright, so my entire Saturday (well post 1:00) has been monopolized by trade talks. Mainly the whole Nomar Garciaparra leaving town thing… so it’s on-again/off-again status has prompted a variety of mood swings today. So here’s what happens…

4:15 - Peter Gammons reports deal is DEAD.
4:25 - Various online sources also report deal is dead.
4:30 - I log off, turn on FOX to watch the end of the Yankees/O’s game.
4:40 - FOX postgame show goes down trades.
4:45 - Jeannie Zelasko hands Kevin Kennedy a sheet of paper saying, “you read this.” Kennedy glances down and reports Nomar is on his way to Chicago.
4:46 - I run back over to computer.
5:00 - I log off under the assumption that the Sox have acquired Orlando Cabrera, Doug Mientkiewicz, and Matt Clement for Derek Lowe and Nomar.
5:20 - I log back ON to the computer to read that the official Sox deal ends up being Orlando Cabrera and Doug Mientkiewicz for Nomar Garciaparra AND outfield prospect Matt Murton. WHA? No Clement!?

If this trade is as latest report (Rotoworld, ESPN) then the Sox got so royally hosed it’s not even funny. My tradebreaker is Matt Clement, because I think he has the stuff to be utterly dominant when he controls both his fastball and curveball. I would have even considered the Nomar for Clement deal straight up that’s how high I am on him. So imagine my mild delight at the though of him in a Sox uni when I logged off at 5:00. Then I come back on and find out he’s not coming. So NOW this is how the deal breaks down. Sox give up all-star SS Nomar Garciaparra AND a decent prospect AND cash for .246 hitting Orlando Cabrera and a first baseman who can’t even spell his last name (also hitting .246). I’m sorry but all things considered (Nomar hating Boston, front office hating Nomar, Nomar refusing to sign a contract extension) Theo Epstein must have been so cocked when he made this trade, he made Dubya look like a Mensa member.

Alright, I could MAYBE get on board this trade if Nomar demanded out. So did he? “If it was still up to me, I’d still be wearing a Boston Red Sox uniform.” DAMMIT Theo, what the hell is your problem?! Pokey Reese, Sr. and the second coming of Tony Clark for one of our all-time greats. Now I’m off the Nomar bandwagon, but still, how could you only get Cabrera and Minty for him? Lowe is still here, the pitching wasn’t addressed, and the offense got smacked in the face.

Theo, you got PWNED.

OK, so now the secrets out… I have a domain name, and yes, the move from Danwa is official. We couldn’t have anymore of these little server outages now could we?

So being hosted here for at least the next year, and hopefully beyond. Will improve on the site in the coming weeks, but with the me going off to Cornell thing and all, tiime has been scarce. Template, links, all my old hacks… need to drag those over from the old account once Danwa is back up and running.

Decided to stick with WordPress, tried Movable Type, didn’t like it. Tried TextPattern, didn’t like it. Even had an inkling of going back to Blogger… heh, nuts to that… and WordPress now has plugin support, so WordPress stays. Good for them.

As for me, not much else is going on in the world of your hero. Work is the same, ordered a ZForce2 laptop from ABS which should be here on Wednesday. Yes, I know. Hooray for being a nerd. Bowling has been ‘meh’ of course, and the Sox continue to bother me with their ‘win two, lose 2′ attitude…

Cornell starts in 3 weeks from today… err… yesterday. Huzzah for leaving T-Town forever— or until Thanksgiving break, whichever comes sooner.

And that is all, on the first day of this great new world of internet goodness I am embarking on. Fear not, it will get better, for I have writing skills that need to be honed… or rehoned… whatever… So eventually It’ll be enjoyable to read my ramblings, and you’ll even want to come back now and again…

That one came out of left field… I would have taken a 4 in Calc and 3 in Physics, since, well, I sucked in Physics, at least on everything practice related we did in class… So now I have MORE decisions

Want to join a political party, but don’t know who you hate more, John Kerry, George Bush, or that old guy who whines a lot… oh yeah, Nader…

Join the APATHY PARTY, where hell, we just don’t care. But we refuse to care as a group. Which makes it a party, and it’s always a party when apathy is around.

Get in on the ground floor, and you won’t even have to try when you get assigned to a job. It’s just that easy.

Although you DO have to care enough to join (leave a comment, or hit me up on AIM) but after that, it’s all downhill (the work that is).

Stop watching CNN and worrying about politics and join today, and then kick back in a pool of lethargy… Awwwww yeah…
